Why?
Life is hard. It's easier when we cooperate.
We actually like each other.
Can I come talk to you about your infrastructure?
Yup! We're glad to help folks out that want live together, or put a Tiny House in the back yard. Email us and let's chat!
Where are you located?
We are in the Cully neighborhood of Portland OR.
Do you build Tiny Houses for other people?
Nope, sorry, that's not our thing.
Do you have any advice for building a Tiny House?
Oh, my, yes…
Don't build on a janky old trailer. You're not saving money. You're putting good money on a scary foundation. Go get a new trailer built. We like
Iron Eagle Trailers, specifically built for Tiny Houses.
You MUST connect your framing to the trailer. Lots of bolts through the bottom plate, or earthquake tie downs in the corners. Whatever, you don't want your house falling off on the road!
Likewise, you MUST connect your roof framing to your framing with an engineered solution. Use hurricane clips or TimberLoks or something. You don't want your roof coming off on the road!
Lofts are popular, but going up and down a ladder at 0300 to pee sucks, especially as we age. Consider a short loft with a bed underneath a raised living room, or build a funky shelf Thing you can use as stairs.

Build to your skill level. If you're super handy, great, do that curved roof. If you're not… Maybe a shed roof is for you. Etc etc etc.
Why is your website weird?
We are big fans of DIY. And the person in charge of the website has opinions about the web… Decentralize! So we run this ourselves. This is DokuWiki! And it's running off an old laptop in our basement. Sometimes DIY isn't all slick and fancy. But at least some giant corporation isn't scraping all our data.
